Supporting Survivors: How local partnerships are making a difference



In 2023 the Ascension Wisconsin Mobile Sexual Assault Treatment Center cared for more than 500 patients. Every patient is a survivor, enduring the unthinkable and working to start the path to healing. 


All survivors have resources available to them through the Mobile Sexual Assault Treatment Center whether it be new clothing, a phone, emergency housing, health care services, over-the-counter medications, assistance with legal paperwork or a safe ride home.


Much of this support is made possible through donor support to Ascension Wisconsin Foundation and the help of community organizations. This Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we would like to take a moment and recognize our community partners that make this care possible:


Advocates of Ozaukee, a safe shelter for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence

BeLeaf Survivors, a sexual assault advocacy organization

Convergence Resource Center, a human trafficking resource center 

Exploit No More / Freedom House, working with victims of sex trafficking and exploitation

Fight to End Exploitation, a human tracking advocacy organization

Fresh Start/New Beginnings, a human tracking advocacy organization

Friends of West Bend, a safe shelter for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence

HCAST, a healthcare collaborative with resources for survivors of human trafficking

HIR Wellness, an Indigenous advocacy organization for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault

Inner Beauty, an organization that provides follow up outreach to survivors of human trafficking

Milwaukee & Racine Child Advocacy Center, child abuse experts that provide acute care and follow up to pediatric patients who have experienced abuse and neglect

Milwaukee Sensitive Crimes, law enforcement detectives that interview victims and provide advocacy during reporting

Pathfinders/C.R.A.Y, advocates that come to the hospital and provide support to our youth survivors of human trafficking and sexual assault

Sojourner Truth House, a safe shelter for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault

UMOS, an advocacy organization for Hispanic survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault

Women’s & Children’s Horizons, a safe shelter for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking and sexual assault
