Every day, physicians across Ascension Wisconsin provide compassionate care to patients. From answering questions with kindness, to providing unwavering support through diagnosis, treatment and recovery, physicians make a meaningful impact in the lives of patients.
In honor of National Physicians Week, we're highlighting some of the dedicated physicians recognized by patients through Ascension Wisconsin Foundation’s Guardian Angel program.
Dr. Breana Cummens, family medicine physician, Ascension Wisconsin Hospital - Greenfield
“In 2019, after reviewing my mammogram, Dr. Cummens called me and told me I was at high risk for breast cancer because of my family history and dense breast tissue. I was shocked and scared. She referred me to the Ascension High Risk Breast Cancer Center. I am grateful for her attention to detail. By referring me to the Ascension High Risk Breast Cancer Center, I can be proactive about my breast health. I was accepted into the high risk program. I am grateful to Dr. Cummens, she is truly my Guardian Angel for this referral.”

“I first met Dr. Weber when I was diagnosed with cancer the first time. He was caring, concerned and very understanding of the emotions both my husband and I were experiencing. He took the time, including after hours and when off duty, to fully answer all of our questions and concerns, of which we had many! When I got diagnosed the second time he was right by my side again. There was no question in our minds as to who would perform this next surgery. He worked hand in hand with my plastic surgeon and explained all of our options thoroughly.
He would personally call with test results, cheer along with good results or boost morale when needed. He always answered our questions with the professionalism one would expect, and went above and beyond as well. His cheerful disposition played a huge role in getting me through my cancer diagnosis.”
